Welcome to Mallorca! We propose a full-day excursion through the municipality of Artà full of heritage, tradition and nature. We will visit the caves of Artà, a work of nature located by the sea coast of the municipality of Capdepera and surrounded by mountains that rise above the sea. Inside, you can observe the stalagmites, that rise from the ground, elegant and slender. They recreate human forms and mysterious shapes. The wonderful creations of nature are there.
We will get to the town of Artà, where we will visit a unique location in the area: The Sant Salvador monastery. It is on a small hill that dominates the entire surroundings of the town. The most significant elements of the complex are the walled enclosure, the sanctuary and the Es Donat dependencies. Its location as a strategic place throughout history suggests a paradise for all photography lovers.
Sant Antoni is celebrated every 16 January. It is a popular, participatory and symbolic event in which the whole town takes to the streets. The festival is organised by the Obreria de Sant Antoni, made up of three people who alternate the annual organisation. The demons appear as the primordial force of the festival, accompanied by the music band as they roam around the village dancing and transmitting the festive air of mass participation to every corner of the town.
The traditional market of Artà takes place every Tuesday that is not a public holiday. It is held in the Plaça del Conqueridor, only in the morning, ending at around 1 pm. It is one of the most visited markets on the island where you can find hundreds of points of sale with a wide variety of products such as: fruit, vegetables, traditional Mallorcan artisan foods (sobrasada, cheese, oil, etc.), Mallorcan handicrafts, ceramic products, textiles, leather, footwear and much more.
The Artà fair is held on the second Sunday in September, also in the morning until approximately 2 pm. What was once an agricultural and livestock fair, typical of Mallorca, has changed over the years. Nowadays it offers a wide variety of items, from livestock to automobiles, as well as all kinds of household items and even typical Mallorcan foodstuffs.
