GUIDED TOUR OF PALMA AND VALLDEMOSSA

The visit starts at the place where you are staying: Cruise, hotel, agritourism… we head towards Valldemossa, and from the road we will be able to contemplate the marvellous nature that the Serra de Tramuntana offers us.

Once there, we will take a pleasant walk through its cobbled streets and alleys, cross the Carthusian gardens and explain the origins of King Sancho’s palace and its subsequent transformation ceded to the Order of St. Bruno. After Mendizabal’s disentailment policies were applied, the Carthusian monks’ cells were left in private hands and adapted as rooms to rent to new guests: artists of all kinds from all over the world, including Fréderic Chopin and Aurora Dupin, known as George Sand, stayed in this building that was so important to the life of the people of Valldemossa.

You will not be left indifferent by the collection of ceramics in every corner, doorway, house and business in the village, dedicated to a person who is very dear to Mallorcan culture: Santa Catalina Thomàs.

We will arrive at the parish church of Sant Bartomeu with its majestic bell tower, twin of the Carthusian monastery. Of course, at some point during the visit, it is essential to try a delicious “Coca de Patata”.

After that we will visit Palma old town, the Jewish Quarter, mallorquin “patios”, the seaside neighborhoud and we will discover the jewel of Gothic architecture: The Cathedral of Mallorca. Do you know why they call it the cathedral of the sea or the cathedral of space.  Did you know that Antoni Gaudí worked on the cathedral?  Do you know the artist Miquel Barceló and his contribution inside the cathedral?

THE ROUTE

  • We come to pick you up at the cruise ship, hotel or accommodation (outside the municipality of Palma there may be a supplement).
  • We head towards Valldemossa. During the journey by road we will be able to contemplate the spectacular landscape of the Sierra de Tramontana.
  • In the town of Valldemossa, we will wander through its streets and alleys, visit the parish church and the place where Santa Catalina was born. There may be time to have a coca de patata or go to a viewpoint near the place.
  • We go to Palma: Walking through the old town and if you feel like it, we will skip the queue and visit the Cathedral of Majorca.
  • Finally back to the cruise ship or to your hotel (near Palma).
  • Remember that this is a private tour with transport and driver at your disposal. We adapt to your needs.
  • Flexible timetable.

    We come to pick you up at the airport/cruise/hotel/accommodation as long as it is located in the municipality of Palma.

    *If you are in a more distant area, the price may increase slightly.

  • Can I contact the guide?

    Yes, we will pass on their contact details a few days before the visit.

  • Can I make a reservation for a larger group?

    Yes, up to 40 people. Please let us know in advance so that we can give you a quote adapted to your needs.

  • Do you have both a guide and a driver service?

    No, it is forbidden by the tourism law of the Balearic Islands.

  • Is it possible to adapt transport for the disabled?

    Yes, but we need to organise this in advance to contract a specific transport company. Rates may vary slightly.

  • Can I customise the tour according to my preferences?
