WHAT YOU WILL SEE ON THIS TOUR

This tour combines the monumental history of Palma with the Mediterranean charm of Valldemossa, creating a balanced experience between culture, landscape and local life. Throughout the tour you will be accompanied by an official guide who will show you unique corners, anecdotes and details that give life to the history of Mallorca.

The visit starts at the place where you are staying: Cruise, hotel, agritourism… we head towards Valldemossa, and from the road we can contemplate the wonderful nature that the Serra de Tramuntana offers us.

Once there, we will take a pleasant walk through its cobblestone streets and alleys, cross the gardens of the Charterhouse and explain the origins of the palace of King Sancho and its subsequent transformation ceded to the Order of St. Bruno.

After the disentailment policies of Mendizabal, the cells of the Carthusian monks remained in private hands and were adapted as rooms to rent to new guests: artists of all kinds and from all over the world, among them Fréderic Chopin and Aurora Dupin, known as George Sand stayed in this building so important for the life of the village of Valldemossa.

It will not leave you indifferent, the set of ceramics that houses every corner, portal, house and business of the village, dedicated to a very dear person in the Majorcan culture: Santa Catalina Thomàs.

We will arrive at the parish church of Sant Bartomeu with its majestic bell tower, twin of the Carthusian monastery. Of course, at some point during the visit, it is essential to try a delicious Coca de Patata.

Then we will visit the old town of Palma, the Jewish quarter, the Mallorcan patios and discover the jewel of Gothic architecture: the Cathedral of Mallorca. Do you know why they call it the cathedral of the sea, the cathedral of space or the cathedral of light? Did you know that Antoni Gaudí worked in the cathedral?

TOUR ITINERARY

  • Pick up at your hotel, accommodation or port of Palma.
  • Transfer to Valldemossa, enjoying the scenery of the Serra de Tramuntana.
  • Guided walk through its cobblestone streets, the Cartuja and the viewpoints.
  • Time to taste the traditional potato coca (optional).
  • Return to Palma to tour the old town: Jewish quarter, Majorcan patios and main monuments.
  • Exterior visit of the Cathedral of Mallorca (possibility to include entrance fee).
  • Return to the meeting point.
    • Includes: Official guide + private transportation (with driver and air conditioning).
